We were driving in the mountains of Madeira after a hike to a waterfall (which will be on my page as well) and we came around a corner to this. A switchback turn with a massive drop and a sea of clouds flowing by as the sunset. This island is truly one of the most unique places in the world thanks to these clouds.

This shot was taken in a cold winter day, with clear blue sky and powerful waves, in one of the most popular beaches in Lisbon - Carcavelos Beach. Despite of the low temperatures, these three young men chose to ride the waves and have a good time together, away from the rest of the world. As a nature lover myself, I admire those who still enjoy spending time outdoors in valuable way, connecting themselves with others as well as the world around.

I was dragged out of bed early to go for a “ride”, unknown destiny. We wound up on the Vicentine Coast in Algarve, Aljezur to be precise. The weather was rough, cold and windy, almost like winter whilst in July. However the fisherman still have families to feed, so they end up sitting on the edge of the cliff waiting for the daily catch.

Walking on the edge of the land on a cloudy day, the ocean with big waves against the “walls”. Just found this place where I could watch different shapes of the hills in front of me. Curiosity: I was alone. I took this shot with my camera held on a tripod and with help of the incorporated Wi-Fi of my camera.

Stumble upon this sunset in the last 5 minutes of exploring Chiado in Lisbon. I was visiting for the first time and my boyfriend was showing me around his city. The soft hues, ambiance, and timing were perfect. I immediately fell in love with this city and understood why my boyfriend loves it so much, too.

There was a time when I felt complete. When I had something to believe in, a place to call ‘home’, something to return to. Something to dream of. But time takes its toll and all you’re left with are memories. Good and bad, it’s all that you have. Behind every picture is a story, but some stories have to be abandoned and forgotten. This one is that kind of story…

On the way back to my residence from a morning of surfing at the beach of Matadouro I had to capture the quietness of the streets in Ericeira. Whilst mornings are busy with cars rushing through the narrow alleys and evenings lively and filled with talk and laughter, the hours around noon display the town as sleepy and peaceful, as if resting under the midday sun.

Have you ever found a place where time’s freeze? I was alone in Serra da Estrela looking for a place where I could shoot this “lake” from the top. 10:00 am. This photo was taken with my camera (Canon) standing on a tripod and with the help of the incorporated wi-fi. Just me alone standing there with this view. Breathtaking.

On Sao Miguel island it happens quite often to come across breathless views. It is relaxing and inspiring to be sit on the edge of a volcano, watching at lakes located on an island in the middle of the ocean, and wondering about how the nature in front of the eyes changed turning in what it is now.

From land the ocean seems glossy and hard to see through. That is due to refraction and all the particles that block your sight from the ocean floor. From top, this distance is at its minimum, and the ocean floor just shows like a painting unveiling every rock, every grain of sand, every detail. I love it.

Clouds spill over the ridge between two large mountain ranges on the island of Madeira. This is one of 300 images used to create a time-lapse sequence which you can find at https://imagefactory.co/madeira-timelapse/ The images are taken with the fantastic Sony Alpha 7 R ll then processed to bring out the cloudscape and converted into JPEGs for processing into a video using the Panolapse package.

After 45minutes of walking, me and my boyfriend find each other so small in the midle of these enourmous mountains that meet the sea in a beach near Lisbon. Few where the ones that stood there, but we all where contemplating the wonders of nature and the simplicity of the light heating the waves at our feat.

The Convent of Christ is a former Roman Catholic convent in Tomar, Portugal. Originally a 12th-century Templar stronghold, when the order was dissolved in the 14th century the Portuguese branch was turned into the Knights of the Order of Christ, that later supported Portugal’s maritime discoveries of the 15th century.

Lisbon is a city that that is affordable and relaxing. The people who live in Lisbon aren’t in too much of a rush. Visiting this city you can travel at ease, eat delicious food, visit beautiful museums and visit a beautiful place such as Monastery Jeronimos. Lisbon is my second favourite city. I told my dad I may move there one day.

The Medieval fortified village of Mãrvao is set up at great height over a rock surrounded by a Portuguese countryside landscape region of Alentejo, nearby the Spanish border. Mãrvao was an important stronghold in the defense of Portugal against Castilla, especially during the Portuguese Restoration War (17th century). However, in the 18th century went into decline and ceased to have an army, which allowed the preservation of many of its buildings of the 15th and 16th centuries. + INFO: https://www.portugaltravel.org/marvao

Between the houses, you find narrow streets, full of life. In the middle you have Rio Douro, and in the other side, Gaia. Porto is one of the most beautiful cities in Portugal. View from the "Véu da Noiva" or Bride's Veil, a waterfall in the north of the Madeira island, not far from São Vicente. This photo was actually taken in a very steep road on the way to a restaurant. Near the waterfall it's possible to make out the very narrow old road, which is no longer used.
